Washed and waxed the Mustang and took some new pictures for Craigslist. Going to take it to a car show tomorrow with a for sale sign in the window. It’s a pretty clean car with average wear for its age. I can’t believe I’m having so much difficulty getting $5000 out of it.
Why did Kinja upload my pictures backwards ._.

Why are you selling it? Were the crowd memes too much?

I can't see if there's a decimal...14k or 140k on the odo? I wish you were closer... Good luck.

“I can’t believe I’m having so much difficulty getting $5000 out of it.”
Well, it’s an automatic convertible with the SOHC V6... the lowest performance version you can get for that generation... with 140,000 miles.
I haven’t priced these out, but if I was looking for a Mustang, I personally would take a pass on the one you’re selling due to it being a convertible and having the automatic.

I like how each of your cars gets a little cameo in the photos...

something, something, something.....nova????
mustang looks fairly clean...... you might try parking it where kids who need their first car hang out, or their parents hang out.

Definitely near a high school before they're out for good.

OR..... near the admission office at THE college in your town.... might have to buy a parking permit.

A solid dozen highschool kids have come to look at it so far, and one dude having a mid-life crisis.

The last time I looked on Craigslist there were three of these, private party, in the $7000 range. NADA trade-in value is $4500, NADA used retail value is $7400. I dunno what KBB is but it’s higher as well, and I’ve replaced all the common failure points. Looking it as not-a-muscle-car it’s an attractive reasonably not-boring daily driver/commuter with a fun gimmick (the top comes off) and stalwart reliability.

You win.

140k, sadly. Still, $5k for a reasonably modern not-boring commuter car with a “the top comes off” gimmick and it’ll be reliable as hell ‘cuz I just replaced pretty much ever common failure item these things have.

I have a ‘97 Riviera that floats down the road and a ‘91 Miata that doesn’t. I have no need to pay $250 a month in insurance/payments for a car that doesn’t sports as well as the Miata or cruise as well as the Buick and gets worse fuel economy by far than either of them.
But yes. The memes.

any of them have money???....... where do more mid life crisis guys hang out??? park the mustang in those places.
what did the high school kids say??? other than .....1. “bro your neighbor has got a cool nova”.... 2. “im more interested in the miata” 3 “who’s green brick?”
